FRD on Ubuntu (1 reply)

Máme podobný problém : S notebookem s Win8.1 cestuji, po připojení na nejbližší možnou WiFi jsem nikdy neměl problém s FRD - vždy stačí zvolit "použít připojení / výchozí". ALE :
Vnuk používá notebook s Ubuntu 11.04 výhradně jen doma = na naší domácí WiFi. Může sice FRD otevřít (na Ploše vytvořil odkaz na frd.exe a povolil spouštět ten odkaz jako program), ale nemůže FRD nastavit, protože výše uvedená volba ("použít připojení / výchozí", to jest použít připojení, kterým se k WiFi připojuje celý OS) v nastavení prostě není. (Při pokusu o aktualizaci pluginů se vrátí "není k dispozici žádné dostupné připojení na internet".)
Jako BFU jsme se pokusili řešit to opakovaným stažením FRD - nepomohlo. (Na Helpu FRD jsme sice našli, že celé nastavení FRD je uloženo ve speciálním souboru, ale nepodařilo se nám jej najít, tím méně otevřít a potřebným způsobem upravit.)
Náš problém jsem vložil na několik linuxových fór - žádná relevantní odpověď (jen hraběcí rady).
Může nám někdo poradit zde ? Velký dík předem.

Way to copy the queue to another computer? (2 replies)

I just picked up an old game that doesn't like Java running in the background. Having FRD or any other java program running causes it to crash a lot, and exiting all Java-related things seems to fix the problem such that the game doesn't crash anymore.
However, I just started downloading something from a slow free server.

Is there an easy way to transfer the current queue from my Windows 7 computer to my old Windows XP/98SE dual boot computer? I used to run FRD 0.7x and the early 0.8 versions on it years ago, and it has plenty of hard drive space. Can its old1ghz processor with 512mb of RAM still handle FRD acceptably? I figure the old thing can handle the downloads while I go gaming on the newer computer. It's main job right now is a file server for more modern systems and a print server for my parallel printer. Well, that and playing my old games from the mid to late '90 and early 2000's.

When I try to change the directory and click on this button the program freezes. Only once it opened the window to select the directory after installation.

Since I moved to Windows 10, I can't connect to any host server, just can't download anything in FreeRapid.
It's not the only appliaction though, midomi.com and program "Tunatic" can't reach their servers too.
I have reinstalled FreeRapid Downloader, cleared AppData folder, turned on all the Windows 10 Privacy settings, after having them all off - nothing seems to work. I have the newest versions of Flash, java and all that.

Does someone know how to fix this? :(

FRD freezes on start up (5 replies)

I run FRD 0.9u4 on Vista 32bit. When I start the application it opens with an empty list of link (main application window loads) and immediately freezes. Looking at the Task Manager the program does not seem to be doing anything after few seconds.

I had this problem before and assume that the reason for that is that I have over 2000 links in the queue. I never start all of them (because then FRD freezes) and usually just keep the top 50 running and the rest paused. My guess is they all unpaused somehow. Which I did not do, but here is another weird thing I noticed.

What changed too is that all of the sudden FRD opens with a new shiny skin, whereas I always used the old Windows2000 look. Now I certainly did not change that setting (and now that FRD freezes cannot anyway) so I assume that the problem and the sudden new skin are related.

Any solutions? Tell me what you need... I am stupid when it comes to doing logs.
Is there a way of copying the list of links, then maybe reinstalling FRD and adding them back again? I am not losing this list. Where is it saved anyway? I cannot find anything like that in \AppData\Roaming\VitySoft\FRD .

Error - winsec.exe - esrver.net - proxy settings (1 reply)

Hi,

The virus winsec.exe, which hijacks your net connection and routes all of your net traffic thru esrver.net, was removed from my computer.
After removing the virus and all of its residual files, FRD gives me the following error
"Internet connection is not probably available. Please check your proxy settings".
But I don't have a proxy setting.
I have tested the security with GRC.com's "Shields UP" and that all checks out.
I can get to the net -- IOW ftp, firefox, thunderbird, etc. all work.
However, FRD does not.

Seriously need some help.

Windows 10 problem (no replies)

Hi,
I need a little help please.

I got a weird problem. I don't know if this is because of windows or FreeRapid but after my downloads are finished, I can't see them in the Download folder. Evan if I do file search, it appears like file is not on disk. Now the weird part.
If I go to View - Show History - (right click) - Open Directory, my Downloads folder opens in Windows Explorer and the file is there.
If it is a mkv file I can even open it and watch in VLC, but I can't copy it to a new location because Windows show error that the file is no longer available as source.
If I run another instance of Windows Explorer file will not be there.
In both Explorer windows, the address is the same. I even tried to navigate to file with cmd but, again file is only visible if I run cmd from Explorer window where the file is visible. I also tried cleaner, disk analyzer, but the file is not there either.

Anyone with the same problem?

How to check the actual video format before the video is downloaded (2 replies)

Ive just started to use FreeRapid Downloader ( V 0.9u4 ) on my Windows 10 computer .

I can set multiple youtube downloads ( download one at a time ) and the download format is not shown until the download actually starts , its only then I can see that the video is actually in the .mv4 format and is DRM Protected , that I don't want , the actual youtube video web page does not show the video format , only the size.

so if I set say 5 youtube videos to be downloaded while I'm asleep , when I later check the downloads its only then I can see that some videos were in fact in the .mv4 format .

Can any one please tell me if there's a way to check the actual video format before the video is downloaded ?

Problem videos being split - mp4 becomes .mpv & .mpa (2 replies)

If I add a mp4 video to the program, it shows up as a .flv file. Then it splits the .flv file into seperate mpa and mpv files. Checked the options and don't see anything that will fix this problem. I rebooted and still the same. No matter what video address I grab from Youtube this happens. The Downloader was working fine till this, so I am betting that it is something I changed some how.

Incremental/quick search bug, with non-default table layout.

Step to reproduce:
1. Modify the default main frame table layout either by deleting/hiding or moving the column(s). For example: delete/hide "Completion" column. Or move "Service" column as 2nd column.
2. Restart FRD.
3. Try doing incremental/quick search. You'll get weird result/GUI interaction.

Expected behaviour:
Incremental search should work with non-default table layout.

Již několik let bez problémů používám tento program, ale po instalaci nových Windows 10 nemůžu nic stáhnout. U různých serverů mi to vždy vypíše: Chyba - přístup byl odepřen. Přeinstaloval jsem znovu nejnovější verzi Javy, odstranil a znovu nainstaloval FreeRapid, vymazal Appdata a pořád stejný problém. Ve firewalu mám program také povolený, nastavení mám stejné jako v předchozích verzích Window, možná je to jen maličkost, možná ne, ale už si nevím rady. Poradí někdo? Díky moc. V příloze je log aplikace

uz asi rok nemuzu pouzivat FRD protoze nejsem schopen updatovat pluginy ale ted bych se k nemu rad vratil
vzdy to skonci touhle hlaskou: Požadovanou operaci nelze provést se souborem, jehož uživateli mapovaný oddíl je otevřen.

vyzkousel jsem vsechno smazat, spustit jako admin atdatd, win10 ale delalo to i na win7
